A continuación, les contamos sobre la actividad “Parents Sharing Time”, instancia en la que apoderados y apoderadas visitan nuestras salas para compartir con los niños y niñas sus pasiones, profesiones y experiencias personales.

En esta ocasión, contamos con la valiosa participación de Constanza Quilodrán, mamá de Mateo Grothusen de 1° básico, quien nos habló de su trabajo en CORFO, la agencia encargada de fomentar el emprendimiento y la innovación en Chile. Constanza motivó a los estudiantes a convertirse en pequeños emprendedores, desafiándolos a crear su propio producto y diseñar una estrategia para promocionarlo. La actividad despertó la creatividad de los niños, quienes sorprendieron con sus ideas innovadoras y sus presentaciones llenas de entusiasmo.

También nos acompañó el papá de Julieta Contreras de 1° básico, Augusto Contreras,quien compartió con nosotros su gran pasión: el buceo. Los estudiantes quedaron maravillados al conocer más sobre este hobby acuático y pudieron disfrutar de increíbles grabaciones submarinas, donde se observaron lobos marinos, tiburones y mantarrayas en su hábitat natural. Fue una experiencia que despertó la curiosidad y el asombro por el mundo marino.

También, recibimos a María Bello, abogada y mamá de Alma Vieira de 3° básico, quien compartió con los estudiantes en qué consiste su profesión. Les explicó que ser abogada implica conocer las leyes, ayudar a las personas a resolver problemas de manera justa y defender sus derechos. A través de ejemplos cotidianos y cercanos, logró que los niños comprendieran la importancia de la justicia y del respeto a las normas que nos ayudan a convivir en armonía. Además, motivó a los estudiantes a expresar sus opiniones con respeto y a escuchar a los demás, destacando habilidades fundamentales tanto para la vida como para la ciudadanía. Su visita fue una gran oportunidad para conocer una profesión clave en nuestra sociedad.

Agradecemos profundamente a las familias que se sumaron a esta actividad, reforzando así el vínculo entre hogar y escuela, y enriqueciendo el aprendizaje de nuestros estudiantes a través de experiencias reales y significativas.

Finalmente, recibimos a la Doctora María Angélica Becerra, madre de Simón Cely de Prekínder y Luciana Cely de 4° básico, quien enseñó a los niños sobre el cuerpo humano, sus órganos y funciones principales. De forma didáctica y entretenida, los estudiantes aprendieron cómo funciona su cuerpo, por qué es importante cuidarlo, y se mostraron muy interesados en conocer más sobre la salud y la medicina.

Parents Inspire Students During “Parents Sharing Time”

We are excited to share highlights from our recent “Parents Sharing Time” activity—an opportunity for parents to visit our classrooms and share their passions, professions, and personal experiences with our students.

This time, we had the valuable participation of Constanza Quilodrán, mother of Mateo Grothusen from 1st grade, who spoke to us about her work at CORFO, the Chilean agency that promotes entrepreneurship and innovation. Constanza encouraged the students to become young entrepreneurs by challenging them to create their own product and design a strategy to promote it. The activity sparked great creativity, and the children impressed us with their innovative ideas and enthusiastic presentations.

We also welcomed Augusto Contreras, father of Julieta Contreras from 1st grade, who shared his passion for scuba diving. The students were fascinated to learn more about this aquatic hobby and enjoyed incredible underwater videos featuring sea lions, sharks, and manta rays in their natural habitat. It was an experience that sparked curiosity and wonder about the marine world.

Additionally, we were joined by María Bello, a lawyer and mother of Alma Vieira from 3rd grade, who explained what it means to be a lawyer. She described how the profession involves understanding the law, helping people solve problems fairly, and defending their rights. Through relatable and everyday examples, she helped students grasp the importance of justice and the role of rules in helping us live together in harmony. She also encouraged the children to express their opinions respectfully and to listen to others—skills that are essential both in life and in active citizenship. Her visit was a great opportunity to learn about a key profession in our society.

We are deeply grateful to all the families who participated in this activity, helping to strengthen the bond between home and school, and enriching our students’ learning through real-life, meaningful experiences.

Finally, we welcomed Dr. María Angélica Becerra, mother of Simón Cely from Pre-Kindergarten and Luciana Cely from 4th grade, who taught the children about the human body, its organs, and their functions. In a fun and engaging way, the students learned how their bodies work, why it’s important to take care of them, and showed great interest in learning more about health and medicine.
